About the project
The textile industry is one of the most resource-intensive and environmentally harmful sectors worldwide. The Sustainable Textile Counselor (STC) project is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices in the textile industry and raising consumer awareness for environmentally conscious purchasing behaviour.
The project combines vocational training, innovative learning methods and practice-oriented approaches in order to qualify professionals who can work as counsellors for sustainable textiles.
Objectives
The Sustainable Textile Counselor project aims to:
- Promote sustainable practices in the textile industry
- Train professionals who can act as advisors for environmentally responsible textile management
The main objectives are:
- Development of a modular training programme to qualify professionals in sustainable textile practices
- Promotion of conscious and sustainable consumption patterns among consumers
- Provision of innovative digital learning resources for continuing education in the field of sustainable fashion
- Creation of a network of experts, companies and organisations that promote sustainable textile solutions
Activities
To achieve these objectives, the project implements the following activities:
- Development of a diploma curriculum – designing a comprehensive training programme with 48 modules that convey sustainable textile practices
- Interactive learning platform & mobile app – providing digital learning opportunities that enable flexible and practice-oriented learning
- Trainings & workshops – training professionals who inform and advise consumers about sustainable fashion
- Practical implementation & living labs – linking scientific findings with real-world applications in the textile sector
- International cooperation & knowledge transfer – collaborating with European partners to promote sustainable textile practices
