About the project
AI-BridgeLearn is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership (KA220-ADU) that aims to empower adults facing language barriers to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) safely, critically, and effectively in their everyday lives.
Many adults—particularly migrants, refugees, and people with fewer educational opportunities—face challenges in understanding official communications, accessing digital services, and communicating effectively in writing. At the same time, AI-powered tools are becoming increasingly important but are often used without sufficient knowledge of privacy, critical evaluation of information, or responsible use.
To address these challenges, AI-BridgeLearn develops a structured and practice-oriented learning pathway that enables adult education providers and community organisations to integrate AI as a supportive learning tool into their educational activities. All project materials will be developed in English and adapted into the partner languages using plain-language principles to ensure accessibility for diverse learner groups.
Objectives
AI-BridgeLearn aims to:
- Strengthen adults' digital competences through the practical use of AI tools.
- Support people facing language barriers in understanding official information and accessing digital services.
- Promote the safe, responsible, and privacy-conscious use of Artificial Intelligence.
- Develop a high-quality, trainer-ready learning pathway for adult education providers.
- Foster inclusion and equal learning opportunities for adults with fewer opportunities.
- Create a sustainable and transferable educational approach that can be adopted by adult education institutions and community organisations across Europe.
Activities
Throughout the two-year project, the consortium will implement the following activities:
- Conduct a needs analysis and develop a common competence framework for adults facing language barriers.
- Design a modular learning pathway, including training modules, a trainer's manual, worksheets, and implementation guidelines.
- Organise an international Train-the-Trainer programme in Italy to strengthen the capacities of adult educators.
- Implement local pilot training activities with adult learners in all partner countries.
- Evaluate and refine the learning materials based on feedback and evidence collected during the pilot phase.
- Develop an online resource hub providing access to the project's educational materials and resources.
- Organise national multiplier events to disseminate project results and engage relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare a sustainability and transfer package to support the long-term adoption of the project's methodology and learning resources beyond the project lifetime.
