About the project
ACTIVE CAMPUS ALLIANCE is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education (KA220-HED) that aims to establish an inclusive “active campus” approach through sport, community-based learning and wellbeing practices.
The project brings together universities and community organisations from Türkiye, Austria and Sweden. Together, the partners will develop an institutional model that connects inclusive campus activities with university governance, quality assurance and student support services.
The project will strengthen staff capacity through shared standards for accessible delivery and safeguarding, while developing practical tools to document and recognise the skills gained through participation. These resources will be tested through local pilot activities and supported by formal institutional procedures.
By embedding the approach into everyday university practice, ACTIVE CAMPUS ALLIANCE aims to help participating institutions maintain inclusive active campus services beyond the project period.
Objectives
- Embed inclusive active campus and wellbeing practices into higher education governance, quality assurance and student support services.
- Strengthen staff capacity to deliver activities using shared standards for accessibility, inclusion and safeguarding.
- Develop practical tools that support credible documentation and recognition of skills gained through participation.
- Test and refine the institutional model through structured pilot activities and systematic evidence collection.
- Support formal institutional adoption so that the approach can continue as a regular campus service.
- Make the project’s resources openly available to support continued use and transfer to other higher education settings.
Activities
Throughout the two-year project, the consortium will implement the following activities:
- Conduct institutional readiness reviews and stakeholder focus groups at four implementation sites.
- Develop an Active Campus Institutional Model and Governance Pack to guide institutional planning, delivery and integration.
- Create a Recognition Pack with tools to support skills documentation and recognition.
- Deliver one joint staff training programme and local implementation training sessions.
- Run two pilot cycles at each implementation site, using a common approach to evidence collection.
- Prepare institutional integration documents for each site, covering standard operating procedures, quality assurance and a defined recognition pathway.
- Publish the main project resources in English, accompanied by summaries in the partner languages.
- Establish an open-access Resource Hub providing access to the project’s tools and materials.
- Organise institutional adoption sessions and final dissemination events to support uptake and continued use of the project results.
