About the project
COMMUNITY DIGITAL CAMPUS is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education (KA220-HED) that connects service-learning, community engagement and digital citizenship in regional universities.
The project brings together universities and educational organisations from Türkiye, Austria and Serbia. Together, the partners will develop a Community Digital Campus (CDC) approach to improve learning quality, strengthen civic engagement and enhance digital readiness in higher education.
A shared framework, an implementation model and a curriculum will support staff and mentors in delivering community-engaged learning. Students will apply their learning through community micro-projects, supported by common tools for documenting and assessing learning outcomes.
The approach will be tested through a pilot coordinated via the Karaman hub. A CDC Toolkit and practical uptake guidance will support institutional adoption, continued use and replication beyond the pilot units.
Objectives
COMMUNITY DIGITAL CAMPUS aims to:
- Strengthen learning quality, civic engagement and digital readiness in higher education through a structured service-learning approach.
- Develop a complete CDC implementation package, including a framework, a model, five learning modules, 30 activities, templates and assessment rubrics.
- Build delivery capacity by training 70 staff members and mentors.
- Pilot the approach with 200 students through 40 community micro-projects.
- Make community-engaged learning consistent, assessable and transferable through shared tools and documented learning evidence.
- Support institutional adoption and long-term use through a CDC Toolkit, uptake guidance and sustainability commitments.
Activities
Throughout the two-year project, the consortium will implement the following activities:
- Develop the CDC model and curriculum, comprising five modules and 30 activities, together with practical templates and assessment rubrics.
- Organise a joint learning, teaching and training activity in Innsbruck.
- Deliver partner-based staff and mentor training cycles following a six-session, 18-hour format.
- Implement a pilot through the Karaman hub, involving 200 students in the delivery of 40 community micro-projects.
- Monitor and evaluate implementation, document learning outcomes and prepare an improvement report based on the evaluation findings.
- Publish a CDC Toolkit and practical guidance for institutions wishing to adopt and replicate the approach.
- Organise five multiplier events, each planned for 40 participants, to share the project approach and results with relevant stakeholders.
- Establish sustainability commitments to support continued implementation and uptake beyond the pilot units.
